The unassuming Japanese Takeaway emporium of Nippon Fare may not immediately entice the casual passer-by, as many delicious and better known food outlets surround it in the hustle and bustle of Shafto Lane.
But the adventurous spirit of anyone who wants to try something new will not be disappointed! Your $10 will be received with the utmost Japanese etiquette (always with two hands), letting you know that they take this stuff seriously.
Feeling hungry? Go the Sukiyaki. Sliced scotch fillet, onions, rice, noodles and a generous serving of sticky sauce served at a temperature that would warm Rick James' blood. A little treat awaits the ravenous individual with a fair amount of Japanese style pickles in the bowl. Gotta love pickles - they're like a food and a drink!
Feeling healthy? Order the Teriyaki (salad!). Scotch fillet, cos lettuce, tomato, carrot and Teriyaki sauce. Delicious yet gentle on the thighs.
Most of Nippon's offerings stem from the Shikoku (island) region in Japan and they have won awards for their Sushi.
For those in Subiaco, try the Nippon Fare on Hay Street next to Chutney Mary's.
