There's something about a food van that we really love at The Pavarotti. Maybe it's their elusive nature. Maybe it's the surprised excitement when you happen to stumble across one unexpectedly. Or maybe it's because you feel just the tiniest bit like Harvey Specter getting lunch from a street stall in New York City. Whatever it is that we love about food vans, Butty's delivers in spades.
The Rib Burger. From the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. It's not the biggest burger in town (think double cheeseburger), but it could well be the tastiest. It's a simple burger made with quality ingredients. The first thing that grabbed our attention was the bun, which is of the soft and squishy, glazed brioche variety. An excellent start! On the inside, you'll find 14-hour braised ribs pulled off the bone and paired with fresh coleslaw, tomato, cheese and sauce. The slow cooked ribs are, of course, the star of the show. Coupled with the crunch of fresh coleslaw, it's a winning combination. I love the traditional meat patty burger, but whoever decided to take this common burger and replace the patty with succulent, melt-in-your-mouth rib meat is a philanthropist of the highest order.
I have to say I was left wanting a little more burger to fill my large, Friday afternoon appetite. But at The Pavarotti, we admit to having larger appetites than most. You can pick up a serving of chips for a few dollars more, but what sort of hypocrites would we be if we didn't follow our own rules?
